This is a members-only program available to all past and present students who have completed, at minimum, the Opening a Coffee Business Course.

When you show your CBI certificate—digitally or in print—to coffee equipment suppliers across Canada, you unlock group buying power. Many suppliers offer discounts to our alumni because they want more Canadian Barista Institute graduates as customers.

Your certificate demonstrates:

Even suppliers who have never heard of CBI often offer discounts when they see your certificate. Think of it as leverage that opens doors.

Your CBI certificate gives you access to alumni-only benefits from coffee equipment suppliers across Canada and beyond. Simply present your certificate—digitally or in print—to unlock:

You can approach any supplier with confidence. Whether they're on our Approved Suppliers page or not, many are open to supporting CBI alumni because they recognize the value of working with professionally trained coffee business owners.

How to use your certificate:

  1. Show your certificate (digital or print) when contacting suppliers
  2. Explain you're a CBI graduate and part of a professional coffee education community
  3. Ask for alumni pricing, group discounts, or exclusive service packages
  4. Negotiate independently—you have the leverage and knowledge to secure great deals on your own

Some of our industry partners go beyond offering discounts—they redirect referral commissions back to CBI to fund our Changing Lives Through Coffee bursary program.

  3. Participating suppliers redirect referral commissions to CBI
  4. We reinvest 100% of those funds into bursaries and financial support
  5. Students facing barriers gain access to training they couldn't otherwise afford
